Connecticut’s Cherry Blossom Festival
As previously mentioned, one of Connecticut’s premiere spring events is the annual Cherry Blossom Festival. Sponsored by the New Haven Historic Commission, this festival marks the arrival of spring in Connecticut, as several cherry blossom trees are planted around the New Haven area. This year, the event will take place on Sunday, April 28th.
Live music performances will held during the festival, and several food and display tables will also be set up for visitors to check out. Admission is free to the public, so anyone can come out and get a look at the cherry blossoms.
Fine Art & Flowers
Another event worth looking into is the 38th Annual Fine Art & Flowers at the Wadsworth Atheneum Museum of Art in Hartford, CT. Flowers are frequently used to create beautiful works of art, and this event aims to celebrate this idea. During this charity event, florists, garden designers, and more come out to create beautiful floral arrangements inspired by the works found in the museum.
Local vendors will be present during the event, so you will be able to shop for some unique crafts and souvenirs. If you have a passing interest in flowers or art, you need to take some time to stop by. The 2019 festival lasts from April 26th through April 28th, so get started on planning if you want to visit.
